Firefighting Publicity Enters Construction Workers Wearing "Hard Hats"

In order to enhance the fire safety awareness among construction workers and improve their ability to respond in emergencies, the Pujiang Fire Brigade organized a series of educational activities on April 25th, just before the May Day holiday. The team visited 18 ongoing construction sites, conducting interactive sessions and demonstrations to promote fire prevention and self-rescue knowledge. Workers were encouraged to "wear the fire helmet" — a metaphor for being mentally prepared for potential dangers — and the initiative was well-received.

During the campaign, firefighters provided detailed explanations on fire risks specific to construction environments, including how to prevent fires and what steps to take if a fire breaks out. They also demonstrated the proper use of fire-fighting equipment, ensuring that workers not only understood the importance of fire safety but also knew how to act. Given that many workers are migrant laborers with limited formal education, the firefighters used visual aids such as comic-style guides and simple text-based handbooks to make the information more accessible and engaging. These materials covered both workplace and home fire safety, addressing common concerns in rural areas.

A total of over 3,800 informational materials were distributed during the event, significantly raising the level of fire safety awareness among construction workers. This effort helped build a stronger fire safety culture on construction sites, creating a more secure working environment for all involved. The initiative reflects the growing commitment of local authorities to protect workers and prevent fire-related incidents.
