Despite this, the number of qualified professionals remains low—only around 1,000 doctors in the province hold both the Practitioner’s Qualification Certificate and the Occupational Disease Diagnosis Certificate.
Currently, there are 20 institutions in Yunnan with occupational disease diagnostic qualifications, but their capabilities vary significantly. Most are located in Kunming, while only a few are scattered across other cities. Many of these institutions suffer from outdated infrastructure and limited diagnostic expertise. Zhao expressed hope that the provincial government will establish a dedicated occupational disease hospital soon.
