Uncle Police Reminds: School is Back in Session, Children Should Focus on Safety
The new school year has started, and the police are reminding students to be more aware of safety. They encourage children to learn self-protection and how to respond in emergencies to avoid becoming victims of crime. Here are some important tips from Uncle Police:
Always Let Someone Know Where You Are and Go with a Buddy.
When going out, it's essential to inform your parents and school about where you're going and when you'll return. Once you arrive at your destination, make sure to contact them right away so they can keep track of your location. Whether you're heading to school or playing outside, it's safer to go with friends or classmates rather than alone. If you're studying late at night, try to have your parents pick you up or drop you off if possible.
Learn Basic Survival Skills and Stay Calm in Emergencies.
Make sure you remember your home address, school address, your parents’ workplace, and their phone numbers. In case you get lost, kidnapped, or feel unsafe, know how to ask for help from the police or call 110. If you're in a dangerous situation, stay calm—ignore strangers who try to talk to you, warn those who harass you, and shout for help if you're in a crowded area. In remote places, try to act obediently, stay calm, and buy time to escape or seek help.
Be Wary of Strangers.
Don’t trust strangers easily. Avoid sharing personal information like your home address, phone number, or family details. Don’t play with people you don’t know, don’t take rides from strangers, and never accept drinks or snacks from them. Only allow doctors, nurses, or your parents to touch your body. If someone tries to do so, tell your parents or teachers immediately.
Develop Good Judgment and Avoid Risky Places.
Avoid going to noisy or chaotic places. Don’t enter places like internet cafes, bars, or game centers that are off-limits to minors. Also, avoid hanging around with people who may not have good influences on you.
Follow Rules and Laws.
It's illegal to carry weapons like knives or engage in fights or other criminal activities. When going to and from school, always follow traffic rules and don't chase or fight on the road. Never take unlicensed vehicles just for convenience.

If your child goes missing, report it to the police right away. If they are taken or kidnapped, provide all the information you have to help the authorities find them quickly.
