The technology and practical application of perlite products?

Expanded perlite is a lightweight and highly versatile material known for its low apparent density, excellent thermal insulation properties, chemical stability, wide temperature resistance, minimal moisture absorption, non-toxic nature, odorlessness, fire resistance, and sound absorption capabilities. It has found extensive applications across various industrial sectors due to these remarkable characteristics. The expanded perlite fireproof board is an innovative fire-resistant core material used in doors, made from expanded perlite, a pre-embedded skeleton, and a suitable adhesive as a binding agent. This combination ensures both structural integrity and fire protection. The basic production process includes the following steps: 1. **Material Selection**: High-quality expanded perlite is chosen as the main component, while appropriate materials are selected for the skeleton and binder to meet required performance standards. 2. **Mixing**: The binder is added to the perlite and thoroughly mixed using a specialized mixer to ensure uniform distribution. 3. **Pressurization**: The mixture is placed into molds or door cores and subjected to pressure to shape it properly. 4. **Curing and Packaging**: After being placed in the mold, the material is left to dry naturally before being packaged as the final product. Currently, expanded perlite fireproof boards are available in different quality grades. Some are made using water glass (sodium silicate) and produced through high-temperature hot pressing. Others use inorganic binders like magnesite cement, which can also be foamed to reduce weight, making them suitable for partition walls or other construction purposes. In some cases, organic binders such as urea-formaldehyde resin, polyester, protein-based adhesives, or construction glues like 107 or 801 glue are used. However, these may release toxins or toxic gases when burned, so they are typically used in environments where they are fully cured and not exposed to extreme heat. When inorganic bonding materials are used, the product remains in a non-ionic and neutral state, preventing any displacement reactions with metal components. Each perlite particle is coated, enhancing the material's water resistance and preventing moisture absorption. This results in a finished product that is strong, has low thermal conductivity, moderate bulk density, good water-repellent properties, and excellent resistance to acid, alkali, salt, freezing, and high temperatures. It also offers superior sound insulation, shock absorption, and heat insulation. Additionally, it is flame-retardant, produces no black smoke, and emits no toxic gases when burned, meeting the GB/T 20285-2006 and GB12955-2008 standards. It can be used as a filling material for fire shutters and fire doors, replacing traditional materials such as aluminum silicate wool, rock wool, glass water-type perlite boards, and foamed magnesite cement perlite boards. One of China’s largest manufacturers of perlite fireproof boards is Xinyang CITIC Perlite Mining. As part of the CITIC Perlite Mining Group, it combines industry and trade, focusing on the production and sale of new wall materials, energy-saving waterproof insulation products, and environmentally friendly building materials. The company specializes in producing a wide range of perlite-related products, including hydrophobic perlite insulation boards, expanded perlite, perlite insulation pipes, closed-cell perlite, vitrified microbeads, perlite filter aids, perlite degreasers, horticultural perlite, perlite fire boards, and more. Using inorganic bonding materials ensures that the product remains chemically stable, with each perlite particle coated and protected. This enhances durability, reduces moisture absorption, and improves corrosion resistance. The resulting panels are not only strong but also offer excellent thermal and acoustic insulation, making them ideal for fire-resistant applications. They meet modern safety standards and can be used in both residential and commercial settings.
