Abstract China's first engineering machinery electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) safety standard, GB/T 28554-2012, titled "Electrical Compatibility Requirements for Construction Machinery with Power Supply Units for Industrial Machinery and Electrical Equipment," has officially been released by the National Standardization Administration Committee. This milestone was led by Zoomlion, marking a significant step forward in China's construction machinery industry. Previously, Chinese products had to rely on European and American standards for EMC testing when exporting, which limited their competitiveness and autonomy.
The newly issued standard provides comprehensive technical specifications, test methods, and guidelines for evaluating the EMC performance of construction machinery equipped with internal power supply units, including mobile cranes, concrete pump trucks, and sanitation vehicles. It sets a solid foundation for ensuring the reliability and safety of these machines in both domestic and international markets.
According to industry reports, China's construction machinery sector has long lacked systematic research into product electromagnetic compatibility. The primary challenges include the absence of complete testing technologies and environments, as well as the lack of national EMC standards. As a result, Chinese manufacturers have had to follow foreign standards, limiting their ability to innovate and compete effectively.
To address this gap, Zoomlion took proactive steps by establishing the country’s first key enterprise laboratory for EMC research and leading the first national basic research and development plan (973) project focused on the key technologies of electromagnetic compatibility in engineering machinery. Through these efforts, Zoomlion has now developed and released the country's first EMC safety standard for construction machinery, demonstrating its leadership in advancing China's industrial technology and standardization. This achievement represents a major breakthrough and positions Zoomlion at the forefront of innovation in the sector.
