When sunlight enters the first layer of glass in the heat-absorbing tube, it reaches the black heat-absorbing layer on the second layer of glass. This layer efficiently captures the solar energy and converts it into heat. Because the two layers of glass are vacuum-insulated, the heat is prevented from escaping to the outside environment. Instead, the heat is transferred to the water inside the glass tube, warming it up. As the water heats, it becomes less dense and rises along the heated surface of the glass tube. It then flows into an insulated storage tank. Meanwhile, cooler water from the storage tank moves back down along the opposite side of the glass tube, creating a continuous circulation. This process ensures that the water in the insulated storage tank is constantly heated, providing a steady supply of hot water. The system is highly efficient due to its insulation and natural convection, making it ideal for solar heating applications.
