When sunlight enters the first layer of glass in the heat-absorbing tube, it reaches the black heat-absorbing layer on the second layer of glass. This layer efficiently captures the solar energy and converts it into heat. Because both layers of glass are vacuum-insulated, the heat is prevented from escaping to the outside environment. Instead, the heat is transferred to the water inside the glass tube, warming it up. As the water heats, it becomes less dense and rises along the heated surface of the glass tube. It then flows into an insulated storage tank, where it is kept warm. Meanwhile, cooler water from the storage tank circulates back down through the glass tube via the cooler side, replacing the heated water. This continuous cycle ensures that the water in the insulated storage tank is constantly being heated, providing a steady supply of hot water for use. The system's design makes it highly efficient and reliable for solar water heating applications.
