Coastal Living – A Relaxed Entertainer's Kitchen
This family fell in love with the location of their new home but found themselves less than thrilled with its overly Tuscan aesthetic. Their vision was for a bright, beach-inspired retreat where the kitchen and family room would seamlessly blend into one cohesive entertainment area reflecting their laid-back lifestyle.
The newly designed space boasts an open and airy feel enhanced by classic white cabinetry that reaches all the way up to the ten-foot ceilings. Extending the cabinetry upward not only amplifies the room's spaciousness but also provides an ideal spot for showcasing some of their cherished personal collections.
One of the homeowners' key requests was for a kitchen featuring an island that could serve as both a dining table and a social hub for gatherings with friends and family. The original layout had a very small island positioned awkwardly, disrupting the flow of the room. We rearranged the entire kitchen, flipping the island's orientation to open it up to the family room. This change made the room feel significantly larger and far more inviting and user-friendly.
The updated kitchen layout centers around a substantial island topped with Silestone, Lagoon quartz in a suede finish. This material mimics the look of marble while requiring less maintenance. The island comfortably seats six people and includes a sink, dishwasher, and ample storage solutions. Flanking the island is a beadboard cabinet door, which ties in beautifully with the beadboard accents on the open shelves along the refrigerator wall. It also features a large stainless steel sink, a Waterstone PLP pulldown faucet with hot and cold filtration, a soap dispenser, and a disposal air switch.
Hanging above the table/island is a grand chandelier with antique silver and crystal beads. Its curved, sculptural design softens the kitchen's lines and adds a touch of sophistication and playfulness to the space.
The feature wall of the kitchen highlights a marble stacked stone backsplash, a curved white custom hood, and seedy glass upper cabinets fitted with puck lights. Thoughtfully selected pottery and decorative pieces complement the room's decor in the display areas, transforming the kitchen into a space that goes beyond mere functionality.
The refrigerator wall incorporates an appliance garage, pantry, and even a desk/workspace for the homeowner, creating a central station for managing files, phones, and other essentials. This area is broken up by an open bookshelf that enhances the furniture-style aesthetic of the space.
To enhance the overall beachy vibe, we installed a hand-scraped, natural oak wood floor called Malibu Alta Vista. This flooring spans the entire first floor of the home, tying everything together seamlessly.
Rustic, dark architectural beams were added overhead between the kitchen and family room, providing a subtle separation of spaces while maintaining a smooth flow between them.
The end result of this project is a refreshing take on the relaxed coastal style, offering this young family all the functionality they need for years to come.

Pillow block, also known as plumber block, which are bearing housings supplied without any bearings and are usually meant for higher load ratings and a separately installed bearing.
Pillow block or Plummer block housings can be used with high-capacity spherical roller bearings or self-aligning ball bearings. They are manufactured from high-strength cast iron as standard but are also available in cast steel or spheroidal graphite cast iron. The housings have a re-lubrication facility and can be used with either oil or grease lubrication.
Pillow block or Plummer block can be 1 or 2- piece split types held together by two or four cap bolts. Most bases provide two or four mounting bolts. Most blocks are of Class 30 gray cast iron. For more strength and ductility, usually they can be furnished in ductile iron or cast steel.
We have specialized in producing US/EURO standard bearing housings more than 10 years, could help to design the bearing housing or produce the Bearing Housing according to your requirements. (OEM accepted)
