All You Need to Know About Anti-Static Acrylic AC300

AC-300, also known as the anti-static acrylic sheet, is a specially designed product aimed at controlling static electricity across a variety of applications. Commonly used in windows, doors, machine covers, fabricated desiccators, and cabinets, this material effectively prevents charge generation on its surfaces. This helps reduce particulate attraction and minimizes the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. Acrylic is well-known for its excellent design flexibility, making it easy to fabricate while maintaining a lightweight profile.

Although AC-300 can be easily shaped into flat surfaces, it is not suitable for heat-formed bent configurations due to the surface's design limitations.

Why Are Anti-Static Additives Important?

Most plastics are electrical insulators, meaning they don’t allow electric charges to flow freely. Polymers, therefore, tend to accumulate electrostatic charges. These charges can remain on the surface of the plastic until they discharge when the material comes into contact with a person or a microcircuit.
