**Abstract**
Currently, the National Diamond Quality Inspection Center, the Energy-Saving Construction Material Inspection Center, and the Solar Quality Inspection Center have established their headquarters in Ezhou. In addition, the China Quality Certification Center has signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation with the Ezhou Municipal People’s Government to jointly promote the development of the Ezhou Ecological Civilization Demonstration Zone. The National Organic Product Quality Inspection Center has also been selected to be located in the Wutong Lake New District, while the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau's large-flow testing project is now based in the Gedian Development Zone. These developments mark a significant step forward in enhancing the city’s quality infrastructure and supporting industrial innovation.
The steel and building materials industry remains a core pillar of Ezhou’s economic foundation. As the city continues to grow, it is essential to transform traditional industries into more advanced and sustainable sectors. Quality plays a central role in this transformation. To support this, the city is focusing on leveraging quality innovation, standard leadership, and the construction of a technology platform—referred to as the “Troika†model—to drive both economic and industrial upgrades. According to officials from the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau, these strategies are key to laying a solid foundation for future development.
Quality innovation serves as a powerful tool for enterprise transformation. By establishing the Mayor Quality Award, striving for Hubei provincial famous brands, and strengthening performance management, local enterprises are encouraged to enhance their quality management systems and implement innovative practices. This approach helps companies improve efficiency through quality and branding. This year, the city added four new Hubei provincial famous brand enterprises, bringing the total to 30-35 products. These branded enterprises contribute significantly to the city’s economic output, accounting for 33% of the added value, 36% of sales revenue, 21% of total profits, and 15% of tax contributions from large-scale enterprises. The municipal quality supervision department plans to further refine its evaluation mechanisms, strengthen quality foundations across all levels, and launch the "Quality Strong City" initiative. It will also conduct fair and scientific selection processes for the next batch of Long Quality Award-winning companies.
Standardization plays a vital role in driving industry advancement, especially in emerging sectors. The Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau has focused on researching technical standards for diamond blades, solar photovoltaic components, ecological agriculture, and energy-saving technologies. Companies like Gudi Technology and Xingfang Abrasives are actively participating in national and industry standard revisions, helping to gain influence in the sector. By aligning research with practical applications, the city aims to build core competitiveness. Moving forward, efforts will focus on integrating technical standards with quality development strategies to provide better standard services for new urbanization. Pilot projects in public services such as banking, logistics, and welfare homes will help optimize urban functions. Agricultural standardization demonstration zones will also be expanded to boost agricultural productivity and increase farmers' income.
The establishment of specialized quality centers has become a key strategy for attracting emerging industries. Through public testing service platforms and preferential policies, the city has successfully drawn in major institutions such as the National Diamond Quality Inspection Center, the Energy-Saving Construction Material Inspection Center, and the Solar Quality Inspection Center. The China Quality Certification Center has also partnered with the municipal government to support the development of the Ezhou Ecological Civilization Demonstration Zone. With these centers in place, Ezhou is positioning itself as a hub for high-tech industries, including new materials, new energy, and green environmental protection, promoting an integrated model of production, education, research, and application.
