Star flower growth environment and morphological characteristics

Star Flower Characteristics:

The star flower typically grows to a height of 30 to 40 cm, with an upright stem and strong branching ability. Its leaves are opposite, lance-shaped, and have sharp tips, measuring between 6 to 8 cm in length. The plant produces a terminal umbel inflorescence, with small, cylindrical flowers that bloom in clusters. The five-petaled flowers form a distinct star shape, which is why it's called the star flower.

Star Flower Growing Conditions:

Star flowers thrive in warm and sunny conditions. During their growing season, it's best to maintain night temperatures above 17–18°C and daytime temperatures above 22–24°C. Temperatures below 10°C can lead to irregular flowering, delayed blooming, or even prevent the flowers from opening at all.

These flowers require plenty of sunlight. The stronger the light, the more compact and shorter the plants will be. In winter, when natural light is limited, supplemental lighting may be necessary to ensure healthy growth.

Star flowers are drought-tolerant but not water-resistant. Overwatering during the growing phase should be avoided, as it can cause root rot. It’s important to keep the moisture level balanced and avoid letting water sit in the soil. When watering, use water that is at a similar temperature to the growing medium to prevent shock. Excessive watering can lead to yellowing leaves and slow flower development.

Proper care and attention to environmental conditions will help your star flower reach its full potential, producing beautiful, star-shaped blooms throughout the season.
