Beyond IP assignment, DHCP also allows administrators to define additional settings like default gateway, subnet mask, DNS servers, and WINS servers. On the client side, users typically only need to enable the DHCP option in their network settings, as the rest is handled automatically. This simplifies network management and reduces the risk of configuration errors.
