Polymer Cement Mortar Waterproofing Latex
The polymer cement mortar waterproof latex is a high-performance material made from imported polymer emulsions and enhanced with various compound additives. When mixed into traditional cement mortar, it creates a unique composite network structure that significantly improves the flexibility, crack resistance, and impermeability of the final product. This versatile product is available in three types—A, B, and C—each tailored for different application requirements.
Key Benefits:
- Enhances the adhesion of cement mortar by up to 200%, ensuring better bonding with substrates.
- Offers superior waterproofing, crack resistance, and impact strength, making it ideal for challenging environments.
- Resists high temperatures and has excellent alkali resistance, ensuring long-term durability.
- Non-toxic, non-hazardous, and eco-friendly, making it safe for both workers and the environment.
Applications:
- Waterproofing and leak prevention for building structures including exterior walls, roofs, bathrooms, and swimming pools.
- Effective for underground projects such as basements, tunnels, dams, and subway stations.
- Especially suitable for porous materials like aerated concrete and hollow bricks, providing excellent surface protection against water infiltration.
Usage Instructions:
1. Main Materials and Requirements:
- Cement: Use general Portland cement with a strength grade of at least C32.5.
- Sand: Choose medium or fine sand depending on the construction needs.
2. Preparation:
- For cement paste: Mix cement with the appropriate amount of latex and water according to the specified ratio. The latex content should be around 0.1 kg per cubic meter.
- For waterproof mortar: First blend cement and sand in the correct proportion, then add the required latex and water. Mix thoroughly using either mechanical or manual methods. Use the prepared mortar within one hour at room temperature (20 ± 2°C).
3. Construction Steps:
- Surface Preparation: Ensure the base is clean, smooth, and solid. Remove any dust, oil, or debris. For leaking areas, apply a sealing material first. For areas with metal or plastic pipes, ensure the surrounding surfaces are properly polished.
- Waterproof Mortar Application:
- A. Apply a thin layer of cement paste to the base to improve adhesion.
- B. Once the cement paste is no longer sticky, spread the polymer cement mortar evenly with a trowel. The recommended thickness is 3–5 mm for general use, and 5–8 mm for basements or pools.
- C. Apply the mortar in layers. After the first layer sets initially, apply a second layer until the desired thickness is achieved (initial setting takes about 4 hours, final setting around 8 hours).
- D. Perform wet curing after 24 hours of application. The curing time may vary based on ambient temperature, but typically lasts 3–5 days at room temperature.
- E. When attaching decorative tiles or panels, apply a thin layer of cement paste or waterproof mortar on both the base and the back of the tile before pressing them firmly into place.
Storage and Transportation:
- Store in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. Shelf life is 12 months.
- Packaging options include 4kg barrels, 20kg barrels, and 50kg barrels (compatible with 50kg cement bags).
