New "Polyurethane Waterproof Coating" implemented on the 1st

According to the National Standard of the People's Republic of China No. 23 Announcement No. 23 issued on November 27, 2013 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, GB/T 19250-2013 "Polyurethane Waterproof Coating" will formally begin on August 1, 2014. Implementation will replace GB/T 19250-2003.

Polyurethane waterproof coating is a kind of material with high elongation, high tensile strength, low temperature flexibility and impermeability, excellent bonding properties, convenient construction, etc. It is widely used in roofing, kitchen and toilet and underground engineering and has broad development prospects. The waterproof material is also one of the waterproof coatings that China's construction department has focused on. Since GB/T 19250-2003 "Polyurethane Waterproof Coating" national standards have been implemented, the production and application of products have undergone tremendous changes: 1) The output of polyurethane waterproof coatings has soared, and the scale of production of enterprises has been expanding. Such as Beijing Oriental Yuhong Waterproof Technology Co., Ltd., Guangdong Keshun Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Wuhan Zhuobao Technology Co., Ltd., Sichuan Yuyang Waterproof Material Co., Ltd. and other enterprises in recent years, the output from several thousand tons breakthrough to more than 10,000 tons; other The output of SMEs has also increased to varying degrees. 2) The product variety has increased. At the beginning of this century, most companies mainly produce two-component polyurethane waterproof coatings, and only a few companies such as Beijing Carlyle and Langzhong (Qingdao) produce single-component polyurethane waterproof coatings. However, in recent years, there has been an increase in the number of companies producing single-component products. Many enterprises can produce single and double (multi-) component polyurethane waterproof coatings according to the needs of the project. 3) Product quality has been greatly improved. In the past, most companies could only produce type I polyurethane waterproof coatings, and few companies could produce type II products. Now a considerable number of enterprises can produce Type I and Type II products to meet the needs of different project construction. 4) The application field of products is continuously expanding. Polyurethane waterproof coatings began to be used only for waterproofing between roofs and kitchens and toilets. It has now been expanded to waterproofing underground works, high-speed rail, urban rail transit, and bridges. 5) The environmental performance of the product has been improved. China's early production of polyurethane waterproof coatings are tar modified, production and construction of serious harm to human health and life. In 1999, the state banned the production of tar modified polyurethane waterproof coatings. On February 1, 2008, the National Development and Reform Commission released the mandatory industry standard of JC 1066-2008 “Limits for the Harmful Substances in Building Waterproof Coatings”. The environmental performance of products has been improved.

The requirements of the new development and application situation prompted the revision of GB/T 19250-2003 "Polyurethane Waterproof Coating" national standards. Under the leadership of the China Building Materials Inspection and Certification Group Suzhou Co., Ltd. and the Building Materials Industry Technology Supervision Research Center, the Beijing Institute of Building Materials Science, the Shanghai Academy of Building Sciences, and the Shenzhen Institute of Building Science have actively undertaken verification tests. Yuhong, Guangdong Keshun, Shenzhen Zhuobao, and Jiangsu Kailun have actively participated in the production of 36 waterproof material manufacturers. After three years of research, they collected domestic and foreign data, conducted extensive verification tests, and widely listened to opinions from all sides. The manuscript finally completed the revision of the national standard.

Compared with GB/T 19250-2013 and GB/T 19250-2003, the main technical changes except editorial modification are as follows:

- Modified product classification;

——Modified the technical requirements, divided the performance into basic performance and optional performance, added items, and modified the technical specifications;

——The time of artificial weathering test was modified;

- Increased the limit of harmful substances;

——Modified and added test methods;

- Added informative appendices for material applications.

In order to fulfill the implementation of the new national standard, the standard responsible for the drafting unit is preparing for the promotion of the new standard, so that the production companies, quality inspection agencies, design, construction and construction departments understand the contents of the new standard, and the production enterprises are made to comply with the new standards. Prepare, design institutes, construction departments, etc., select products according to new standards, achieve a balanced transition from the current standard to the new standard, and increase the product quality of polyurethane waterproof coatings to the next level.
