How to process rough stone into decorative stone

Many people will see the beautiful marble on the ground of the hotel. The walls are rich in sandstone sculptures. These decorative stones suddenly give the hotel a noble and classical atmosphere. How are these decorative stones processed by some common rough stones? What is it?

The first point: sawing

Sawing is the operation of sawing natural stone blocks or large artificial stone base materials into saws with a saw machine.

The sawing equipment mainly has a frame saw (row saw), a disc saw, a wire saw, and the like. When sawing hard stone such as granite or larger stone, the frame saw is often used. When sawing a small size stone below medium hardness, a disc saw can be used.

The principle of sawing stone of frame saw is to pour water-added iron sand or silica sand into the lower part of the saw blade. The saw blade (belt-shaped flat steel strip) under certain pressure reciprocates with the iron sand on the stone to produce friction and saw stone.

The circular saw consists of a frame, a saw blade holder, a landing gear and a saw blade. The large saw blade has a diameter of 1.25-2.50m and can process stones of 1.0-1.2m height. The saw blade is a cemented carbide or diamond blade, the latter being used more widely. The cutting mechanism of the saw blade is that the serration impacts the rock and rubs the crystal mineral into small pieces to realize the cutting.

Second point: surface processing

The surface quality of the sawed sheet is not high and surface processing is required. Surface processing requires various forms: rough grinding, fine grinding, polishing, flame drying and chiseling.

The grinding process is generally divided into five processes: coarse grinding, fine grinding, semi-fine grinding, fine grinding, and polishing. The grinding equipment includes a rocker type hand grinder and a bridge type automatic grinder. The former is usually used for small parts processing, and the latter is used for processing sheets of 1 m2 or more. Abrasives are mostly made of silicon carbide plus binder (resin and high alumina cement, etc.) or 60-1000 mesh of corundum.

Polishing is the last step in stone grinding. After this process, the stone surface has the greatest ability to reflect light and good smoothness, and the inherent pattern color of the stone is displayed to the utmost.

The polishing methods used in domestic stone processing are as follows:

1, felt - oxalic acid polishing method: suitable for polishing white marble, snow, screw turn, sesame white, Ai Yeqing, peach red and other stone.

2, felt - alumina polishing method: suitable for polishing sunset, ink jade, purple bean paste, Hangzhou gray, northeast red and other stone. These stones are harder than the first class.

3, white corundum grinding stone polishing method: suitable for polishing gold jade, Dandong green, Jinan green, white tiger clam and other stone. These stones are not easily polished with the first two types of polishing methods. The singeing process is to cut the granitic plate and sing it with a flame ejector to restore the natural surface. After the singeing, the slate is first brushed with a wire brush to remove the rock fragments, and then sprayed with a mixture of glass slag and water, or with a nylon fiber granule manual grinder to make the surface color and touch satisfy the requirements. Kneading is a method of machining a stone surface cut by a gang saw with a gangue machine. The surface-processed marble and granite plates are generally cut into finished products of a certain size by using a fine-grained diamond small circular saw.
