1. Green and Low-Carbon Transportation – See the Track in Person
The Green and Low-Carbon Transportation Achievements Museum is one of the main attractions at the 6th City Fair, offering a clear demonstration of Chongqing's rail transit planning. A large interactive digital sand table system, covering nearly 20 square meters, uses top projection technology to visually display the long-term development of Chongqing’s rail network and the second-phase construction plan (2014–2020). This immersive experience allows visitors to explore the city’s future transportation layout in real time.
In addition, an on-site "information kiosk" is available for visitors to check details about existing, under-construction, and planned rail lines, stations, and surrounding facilities. It’s a great tool for anyone interested in understanding the expansion of Chongqing’s public transport system.
2. Interactive Experience – Simulated Security Check with Contraband Detection
To help the public better understand the daily operations and future plans of the rail transit system, the exhibition features engaging games such as “Real-Time Object Search on the Big Screen,†“Experience Being a Security Officer,†and “Large-Scale Puzzle.†One of the most popular activities is the “Security Inspector Game,†where participants use a simulated security screening system to identify prohibited or dangerous items. The game also includes a smart scoring system that tracks performance in real time, making it both educational and fun.
3. Zero Carbon Experience – Photovoltaic Film Powers the City Skylight
The Zero Carbon Experience City, inspired by the Bedington community in the UK, showcases over 60 low-carbon, energy-saving, and eco-friendly technologies. Its exterior features a gray and earth-red color scheme, using insulated and decorative materials to create a durable, fireproof finish.
This two-story building has a smart roof with a skylight equipped with photovoltaic film that converts solar energy into electricity to control the opening and closing of the sunroof. It allows residents to enjoy natural light and ventilation while automatically adjusting based on weather, season, and personal schedules. The system can be controlled remotely via mobile devices or tablets, offering a high level of convenience and sustainability.
Inside, smart appliances such as air conditioners, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, electric curtains, and LED lights can all be managed through remote controls or mobile apps, further enhancing the zero-carbon living experience.
4. Cutting-Edge Technologies from Around the World in Eight Exhibition Zones
The International Pavilion showcases innovations from global institutions and Fortune 500 companies, including those from the UK, France, Germany, and Denmark. The New Urbanization and Ecological Civilization Pavilion highlights achievements in ecological cities and urban development across the city, with special attention to areas like Jiangbei Zui CBD and Yuelai Ecological District.
The Green Building Pavilion focuses on sustainable architecture, commercial complexes, and green communities. The Engineering and Technology Pavilion presents new construction techniques, including high-strength steel reinforcement and advanced processing methods. The Finished-Use Residential and Building Industrialization Hall displays domestic industrialized construction components and integrated building technologies.
The Green and Low-Carbon Industry Pavilion features thermal insulation, energy-efficient windows, HVAC systems, and smart building management solutions. The Renewable Energy Industry Pavilion highlights the application of renewable energy technologies such as water-source heat pumps, ground-source heat pumps, and solar integration in buildings.
