China's wind power, photovoltaic power generation capacity has grown rapidly

China has replaced the United States as the world’s largest wind power country, and the national power grid has become the world’s largest wind power access network with the fastest growth in wind and solar power. In five and a half years, China has gone through 15 years of wind power development in the United States and Europe.

According to reports, the National Grid actively strives to support the development of wind power and photovoltaic power generation, which has effectively promoted the rapid development of wind power and photovoltaic power generation. In 2012, the installed capacity of wind power in its operating areas was 56.76 million kilowatts and the installed capacity of photovoltaic power generation was 3.33 million kilowatts.

In 2012, the performance of wind power and photovoltaic companies in China declined. The export of wind towers, photovoltaic cells and modules faced “double opposition” in Europe and the United States, and the new energy industry was experiencing unprecedented pressure. The State Grid has vigorously supported the development of new energy sources and has done a lot of work in wind power grid integration, operation and management, standard construction, and technological innovation to ensure timely integration and acceptance of wind power.

In addition, the State Grid actively strengthens the construction of the power grid and improves the ability to allocate resources optimally. In 2012, the world’s largest transmission capacity and longest distance Jinping-Suannan UHV DC project, the world’s largest conversion capacity of Kaolin DC back-to-back expansion project completed and put into operation. During the summer of peaking in 2012, it will take advantage of the trans-regional and inter-provincial channels and large-scale power grids such as UHV to actively absorb the surplus of hydropower in the Yangtze River and Yellow River basins. Among them, Sichuan's largest transmission of electricity exceeded 10 million kilowatts for the first time, reaching 11.1 million kilowatts, sending 34.4 billion kilowatt-hours of hydropower for the whole year, hitting a record high; Qinghai delivered nearly 5 billion kwh of hydropower for the whole year, which is 10 times that of 2011. . The U.S. high-pressure project has effectively played its role in large-scale firefighting and economic cooperation and optimized resource allocation. In 2012, the State Grid's hydroelectric power on-grid electricity was 551.8 billion kWh, an increase of 26.33% year-on-year.

In addition, the State Grid actively promotes the construction of pumped-storage power stations. As of the end of 2012, the State Grid has built 17 pumped-storage power stations and four under construction; the installed capacity has been put into operation at 14.06 million kilowatts, and the installed capacity has been 4.06 million kilowatts.
