A five-story factory building in Xiagong Village, Zhangye Town, Quanzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone caught fire yesterday. It appears that some people were still trapped on the third floor. At 12:00 PM yesterday, the Quanzhou Fire Department received the alarm and immediately dispatched over 40 firefighters from three districts—Hui'an, Fengze, and the investment zone—to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the blaze originated from Huangchang Diamond Tools Co., Ltd. located in Xiagong Village, Shangtang Development Zone. The five-story factory was emitting thick smoke, with flames engulfing the northwest side. The eastern wall of the building featured a bamboo frame decoration, which was less than 10 meters away from neighboring structures, posing a significant risk of fire spreading.
Based on the on-site investigation, the commanding officer quickly ordered the search and rescue team to enter through the north entrance, under the protection of water gun positions, to locate and save any remaining individuals. Meanwhile, other teams set up water gun positions on the north, east, and south sides of the building to directly attack the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
After nearly an hour of intense efforts, the fire was brought under control. Firefighters then conducted a second sweep inside the building to water and cool areas where smoldering or re-ignition might occur, ensuring all hazards were eliminated. At 3:05 PM, the team evacuated the site after confirming there were no remaining dangers.
“I noticed the factory was on fire at around 12:00 PM,†said Mr. Luo. “There were a lot of nylon materials stored inside, which burned very quickly. The workers managed to escape shortly after the fire started.â€

According to reports, a large section of the bamboo frame was destroyed in the fire. The north wall of the western side of the building cracked, and the third-floor storage area for nylon hooks and loops was largely burned. The fire covered nearly 500 square meters. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the cause and extent of the damage.
