**Fire Breaks Out at 5-Story Factory in Quanzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone, Rescuers Save People and Control Flames**
A five-story factory building in Xiagong Village, Zhangye Town, Quanzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone caught fire yesterday. According to initial reports, some people were still trapped on the third floor, prompting an urgent response from local authorities. At 12:00 PM, the Quanzhou Fire Brigade received the alarm and quickly mobilized over 40 firefighters from three nearby districts—Hui'an, Fengze, and others—to rush to the scene for rescue operations.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire originated from Huangchang Diamond Tools Co., Ltd., located in Xiagong Village, Shangtang Development Zone. The five-story building was heavily engulfed in smoke, with intense flames visible on the northwest side. A bamboo frame used for decoration on the eastern wall was less than 10 meters away from neighboring buildings, raising concerns about potential fire spread.
Based on a quick assessment of the situation, the commanding officer ordered the search and rescue team to enter through the north entrance under the protection of water guns, aiming to locate and save any remaining individuals inside. Meanwhile, other teams set up water gun positions on the north, east, and south sides of the building to directly attack the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
After nearly an hour of intense firefighting efforts, the flames were brought under control. Firefighters then conducted a thorough inspection of the building, watering and cooling areas where smoldering or re-ignition might occur. By 3:05 PM, all personnel had safely evacuated the site after confirming that no further dangers remained.
“I saw the factory on fire around noon. There were a lot of nylon materials stored inside, which burned very quickly,†said Mr. Luo, a local worker. “The staff managed to escape quickly once they noticed the fire.â€

According to preliminary reports, a large section of the bamboo frame was destroyed, and the northern wall of the western part of the building showed signs of cracking. The third-floor storage area, which contained nylon hook-and-loop fasteners, was largely destroyed. The fire affected an area of nearly 500 square meters. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire and assessing the full extent of the damage.
