Potato topdressing precautions

Most of the potato topdressing is nitrogen fertilizer, and its amount varies depending on soil fertility, fore crops, irrigation, density, and phosphate application level. When dry farming is carried out without organic fertilizer, the effect of nitrogen fertilizer on topdressing is poor, and it is suitable as base fertilizer. The nitrogen application rate is generally 60 kg nitrogen per hectare. If the water can be poured once in the bud period, increase it to 90 kg of nitrogen and apply a deep hole before watering. For potatoes grown after sugar beet and sorghum, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be increased to 105 kg per hectare. When the density is increased or phosphorus fertilizer is applied, the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be increased to 135 kg nitrogen per hectare. In summary, the nitrogen use of potatoes is based on the conditions of applying 60 to 135 kg of nitrogen per hectare, which is applied before the flowering of the potatoes. After the flowering, the nitrogen fertilizer is generally not applied. In the later stage, in order to prevent premature aging, 0.5% urea solution and 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution can be sprayed as root dressing according to plant growth.
