Xinjiang plans to build an important national wind power photoelectric base

During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, Xinjiang will continue to increase the proportion of new energy sources in energy supply, and will strive to build Xinjiang into an important large-scale wind power and photovoltaic base nationwide.

At the meeting, Liu Huiqin, deputy director of the Energy Development Division of the Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, introduced Xinjiang's "12th Five-Year Plan" energy (new energy) development plans and ideas.

The plan shows that by 2015, the installed capacity of wind power in Xinjiang will reach 8.5 million kilowatts, of which, 6 million kilowatts of wind power will be exported, and 2.5 million kilowatts will be consumed within the territory; the photovoltaic scale will reach 1.2 million kilowatts, and the electricity consumption will be absorbed within the territory.

In addition to the 12 wind district project plans for Dabancheng, Xiaocaohu, Santanghu, etc. that have already been completed, there are preparatory work such as wind measurement in small wind districts such as Bazhou, Changji and Yili. The project planning will be started later. By then, the planning scale of the Xinjiang wind zone will be around 13 million kilowatts, fully meeting the target of 8.5 million kilowatts of wind power development during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.

In addition to wind power, Xinjiang is one of the best areas for solar energy resources in the country. According to the plan, in accordance with the principle of "solar power generation as the main source, and multiple types of utilization are equally important," Xinjiang will use deserts and idle land resources in solar energy-rich eastern and southern Xinjiang to develop large-scale optoelectronic grid-connected power stations and build a number of 10 10,000 kilowatt-level grid-connected photoelectric bases; distributed photovoltaic power stations are constructed for sites with good resource conditions and suitable for distributed access.

Liu Huiqin said that the development of wind power projects should be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements of the wind area project planning, in line with Xinjiang's requirements for new energy development plans and targets, and in combination with local economic and social development, power grid conditions, and electricity demand, priority should be given to the development of wind and solar energy resources. Regional, to prevent resource splitting and blind development and construction.
