The 1st National Seminar on Precision Manufacturing Technology and Application of Superhard Material Cutters Held in Zhengzhou

Organized by China Mechanical Engineering Society, China Machinery Industry Federation, China Tooling Tool Association Tool Association, Chengdu Tool Research Institute, Henan Province (Zhengzhou) Mechanical Engineering Society, and Zhengzhou Diamond Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd. The Seminar on Precision Manufacturing Technology and Application of Superhard Material Cutters was successfully held in Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone from July 17th to July 19th, 2012. Academician Lu Bingheng, Vice Chairman of China Mechanical Engineering Society, Zhang Yanmin, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Mechanical Engineering Society, Gao Wensheng, Deputy Chairman and Secretary General of Henan Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Wang Luzhou, Director of Chengdu Tool Institute, and Zhengzhou Science and Technology Association Wu Yuhong, Secretary General of Zhengzhou Mechanical Engineering Society Guo Xinwei, Deputy General Manager of Chery Automobile Engine Plant Zhao Baoming, General Manager of Zhengzhou Diamond Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Zhang Fengming and other experts from Shanghai General Motors, Chery, FAW-VW, Tianjin FAW, Weichai Power A total of more than 120 people attended the conference, including representatives from the automotive, engine and machine tool manufacturing industries, universities and research institutes, and Anyang Xinsheng.



Academician Lu Bingheng and Secretary General Zhang Yanmin made reports on "High-end CNC Machine Tools and Superhard Materials Tools" and "China's Mechanical Engineering Technology Development Trends." Prof. Chen Wuyi of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Professor Wang Xibin of Beijing Institute of Technology and Wang Luzhou, director of Chengdu Tool Research Institute, and other experts gave technical reports such as “Cutting Tool Technology in Aerospace Materials Processing”.

During the conference, representatives from all over the country divided themselves into four groups, namely tool management topics, application topics for super-hard tool materials, super-hard material tool manufacturing process topics, and tool field application topics, based on the results and problems that they have brought, especially problems. The conference rooms, laboratories or production sites organized targeted topic exchanges and discussions.

The delegates were very satisfied with the meeting and hoped that they will continue to be held in the future to promote the development of superhard cutting tools, high-speed cutting and precision manufacturing technologies in China.
